Translations, editing and web-writing are services. They require time, care and attention to detail. They can also involve considerable research. So our fees vary according to the complexity and difficulty of each project.
If you have a translation or web-writing project, drop us a line if you’d like us to send you a free quote. For translations, we need to see the source text (your document, web-copy etc) to calculate the fee.
We charge by the page (one page = 1500 characters including spaces). But please let us know if you'd prefer a quote based on the word count.
In the meantime, the following information is intended purely as guidance. You’ve probably done some shopping around. We have too, and we think our fees represent pretty good value, as our quality is right up there at the top end of the scale.
Standard texts: from £32 per page
Creative texts (advertising, marketing etc): from £40 per page
For slogans, taglines and similar short texts that require creative input, we charge an hourly rate of £90
Editing and proofreading
Minor corrections: £16 per page
Substantive revisions/re-writes: from £32 per page
Web-writing and usability
Web-writing, web-editing: £90/hour
Website health-checks: £90/hour
Web-writing workshops and presentations
Talks and presentations: from £300
Workshops: from £100 per person for half-day or from £150 per person for full day
Discounts are available for groups – please contact us to discuss.
We apply surcharges of 25% to 50% in the following cases:
- urgent projects or projects requiring work at weekends and public holidays
- translations or editing projects from scanned or hard copy (paper) and other non-standard source-text formats
To avoid surcharges, please send us your project in good time. If you know that you have a rush job coming up, it's helpful if you notify us in advance. That way, we can arrange our schedule and set aside plenty of time and attention for your translation or editing job.
And if possible, please send us your projects in standard electronic format (Word/Pages, Excel/Numbers, PowerPoint/Keynote). That way, you'll save money and we'll be able to deliver your project more quickly.
